There are almost 5,000 identified people in California above/ below the age of 30 who are homeless and drug abusers. Most of them need temporary accommodation and feeding to gain mental balance. Consequently we are planning our Charity Marathon for two primary reasons.
To create awareness of their plight with a view to generating social interventions in their favor from various segments of society including corporate California, religious bodies and institutions, NGOs, well meaning individuals and government itself, by leveraging on the publicity the charity marathon will generate.
To raise actual funding to commence a program to aid all homeless and drug abusers by providing shelter and feeding support as well as iconic character mentorship speakers. This would demonstrate clearly to all that charitable interventions by well-meaning enterprise, institutions and individuals in California can more or less eradicate this unfortunate situation in California. We strongly believe this situation is an indictment on our collective national and social consciousness and needs to be corrected as soon as possible, more so when the implementation of an effective solution is restrained only by financial constraints and not by logistical considerations.
